SHIM is all about helping our neighbors in need. They operate food pantries serving neighbors in Baldwin-Whitehall, Bethel Park, South Park, Keystone Oaks, Mt. Lebanon, and Upper St. Clair.

Each fall, the youth sponsor a SHIM food drive. 

We accept food donations year round in our many SHIM donation boxes located in the Gallery, Welcome Center, WECEP, Fellowship Hall lobby, and the WROC. 

Have you ever encountered someone experiencing homelessness and felt unsure about how to assist them?

QuicKits are bags, designed by the youth of Westminster, filled with essential items.

We continuously collect donations for these bags, including wrapped/ packaged toothbrushes and toothpaste; deodorant; travel size soap, and shampoo; mini bottles of water; new gloves and socks; hand warmers. 

Fully assembled kits are available to you in the Narthex and the WROC. Take one to keep in your car to hand out when you cross paths with someone in need.

Our volunteers spend their summer planting, caring for, and harvesting in the vegetable gardens at Gilfillan Farms. All the fresh produce they grow is distributed to those in need through the South Hills Interfaith Movement’s food pantries.

Garden volunteers are needed starting May and through September. 

During the summer, when school is not in session, there are many children who depend on the meals they receive at school. We give food insecure children a take-home bag every week. We distribute these bags through local community centers with the help of our dedicated volunteers who purchase the food, put the bags together, and ensure they are delivered each week.

Volunteers needed to package bags on a Sunday morning (all ages) and drive the bags to various locations throughout the larger community (18+).

Donations of packages of tuna or chicken, Pop Tarts, fruit-by-the-foot, applesauce, fruit cups, and individual cereal are accepted May through July. 

Living Stones is a non-profit organization that aims to provide meals to those who are facing food insecurity. Every Sunday, they serve dinner in neighborhoods where access to food is limited. The food they serve is donated by senior care homes and restaurants.

As volunteers, we have the privilege of dedicating our time four times a year to serve the food buffet-style and meet the guests.

RAH is an international non-profit hunger relief organization. Once a year 300+ Westminster volunteers package 40,000 meals. RAH distributes these meals through schools and orphanages around the world.

Street Moms is a non-profit organization based in Wheeling, West Virginia, dedicated to supporting women who are experiencing homelessness. Our volunteers provide them with essential supplies, including tents, to ensure their comfort and safety. Additionally, we organize regular meals to nourish and uplift those in need. 

Meals on Wheels @ The Crossroads delivers hot meals to seniors. We show our support by baking tasty treats, decorating Easter Eggs, and preparing blizzard bags filled with food for days when snow prevents food deliveries.

We are currently collecting soup, peanut butter or cheese crackers, pudding cups, fruit snacks or raisins, hot cocoa or tea bags, and fruit cups. Donations can be brought to the church before or brought to our Celebration Sunday event on September 13 at 4:30 p.m.

We proudly support the Washington County City Mission in a variety of ways throughout the year as our mission partner. 

We are looking for a leader to seek out and plan volunteer trips to the Mission. 

Clothing and shoe donations should be dropped off directly to the City Mission or one of its warehouse locations. 

At WPC, we welcome refugee families to our community! We offer support with finding housing and furnishings, assist adults in securing employment, and help children get enrolled in school. Our goal is to make their transition smooth and stress-free so they can make a successful transition. Join the team today! 

Since 2011, Westminster, in partnership with our community, has organized an annual gift drive that provides Christmas presents for more than 300 foster children served by the Bair Foundation. This longstanding initiative reflects our shared commitment in supporting vulnerable children living in foster care, group homes, or residential treatment facilities in our area.

Choose a tag from one of our many trees and buy a gift that you can drop off at the church during open hours. Volunteers are needed to sort gifts in December.
