Current Volunteer Opportunities

We show our love for God by serving those in need within our community and throughout the world. We volunteer to help others, to experience new things, to meet new people and develop relationships.

We always welcome volunteers to usher, help with food and hospitality, lead a small group, assist with children and youth programs. Do what you are good at and what you love to do.

To learn more and to find the opportunity that fulfills your need for involvement and commitment, please contact Emily Shubilla, volunteer coordinator, at 412-835-6630 x205, or shubilla@westminster-church.org.

In Our Church

Ushers

It is a joy to help direct others during worship. Consider volunteering to be an usher at the 11 a.m. worship service and the 9:30 Bridge Contemporary Service. Ushers will help people finds programs/ rooms in the building, seat people in needed, and collect the offering.

Communion Servers

In our Presbyterian tradition, anyone who has served as either a Deacon or Elder is encouraged to serve Communion. It is a great blessing and a privilege of your ordination.

Welcome Center Volunteers

The Welcome Center is a place for us to connect before and after worship for fellowship, treats, and coffee. We are looking for some volunteers to set up before the 8:30 a.m. worship service and to clean up after the 11 a.m. worship service. Please sign up today!

QuicKit Mission Project

Support Bags for Those Experiencing Homelessness

Have you ever come across an individual in need and not had any way to help?

QuicKits are bags, designed by the youth of Westminster, filled with essential items like deodorant, water, a toothbrush, and more, put together in a reusable bag.

We continouslly collect donations for these bags, including: wrapped/ packaged toothbrushes and toothpaste; travel size soap, and shampoo; mini bottles of water; new gloves and socks; hand warmers.

Fully assembled kits are available to you in the Narthex and the WROC. Take one to keep in your car to hand out when you cross paths with someone in need.

Share your experience! If you have given a QuicKit to someone in need, please tell us about your experience, send to Emily Shubilla at shubilla@westminster-church.org.

Update

In March of 2025, we assembled 300 more QuicKits and to date, 500 QuicKits have already been distributed.

More information on the project and what is included in the bags can be found in our YouTube video below.
