The purpose of Children’s & Family Ministry at Westminster Presbyterian Church is to help support families develop and nurture their children’s faith in Jesus Christ. We teach children birth through sixth grade through Bible lessons, scripture, activities, worship and songs, outreach, prayer, and Christian example. Kids’ Connection, Jesus & Me (JAM)
Every October, children in youth in 3rd and 7th grade will be presented with Bibles. In addition, children in 3rd and 4th grade are invited to attend Kids’ Connection on Wednesday evenings in October to learn all about their new Bibles.
Anyone who has not received a Bible is welcome to register for one regardless of grade.
Join us for a special webinar featuring Rev. Dr. J. Bradley Wigger, retired Presbyterian pastor and professor at Louisville Seminary. Dr. Wigger is a specialist in childhood studies and education. He has published numerous books and will be sharing his latest entitled “When Children Imagine God: Conversations with Church Kids.” This book gives a glimpse into children’s religious imaginations and the profound beauty and creativity found there.

Join us for an afternoon of fall fun featuring pumpkins, a food truck, crafts, games, and more! Enjoy the grounds at Gilfillan Farm as you decorate pumpkins, play fall games, adventure through a scavenger hunt, and delight in the fall season with family and friends.

These intergenerational family days provide children and their families opportunities to engage in practices that nurture faith in fun and engaging ways. We will explore both worship and prayer through art, music, stories, and practices that enrich our experiences. All participants will have an opportunity to share, through video, what they love about worship and what they find challenging. Lunch and materials will be provided.
We have 50 spaces for families including children up to 12 years old. Children, parents, grandparents, caregivers, all family configurations, are encouraged to attend together.

Worship and Sacrament classes are recommended for families with children and youth in 2nd through 12th grade. Together we will learn about why and how we worship and the two Presbyterian Sacraments: Baptism and Communion. Classes will meet for three consecutive weeks in Room 284. Advance registration is appreciated.
Westminster is trying something new! Join us for our All-Church Retreat at Crestfield Camp & Conference Center. Come away for a weekend of rest, renewal, worship, fun, fellowship, and connection as we explore God’s covenant with God’s people through Abraham and Sarah and consider how God’s story connects with our own.
Everyone and anyone is invited! Come with family or friends, as a couple, or on your own. Crestfield’s rooms and meeting spaces are accessible, and we hope this will be a weekend where everyone can participate, connect, and feel at home.
