Snowball Mountain Challenge invites kids to an exciting winter sports event where they become Challengers, gearing up for frosty games, snowy surprises, and hands-on lessons about resilience and faith. They will come to realize that with the strength God provides, they can share their gifts, be brave, give their all, pray, and hope. Your kids will be guided daily by the energetic Activities Director and the lovable Ollie the Arctic Seal puppet, who is reporting on the events. Challengers aren’t just playing games. Using their Challenge Companion (the Bible), they learn to draw strength from their faith through powerful stories, while connecting the learnings to Bible Stories and Lift Lessons (Key Learnings). With a unique winter theme and solid theology at its core, Snowball Mountain Challenge VBS delivers joy and meaning in equal measure, teaching kids that “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13, NRSV).
Join our church family together to experience Snowball Mountain Challenge. Barefoot School VBS will transform Westminster into a mountaintop experience filled with laughter, life lessons, and lasting faith. As children face their challenges and discover their strength in God, you’ll hear them say, “Challenge accepted – with God I am strong.”

5th and 6th Grade Field Trip
We’re adding a fun adventure for 5th and 6th graders to Barefoot School! Our field trip will take place on Wednesday, June 24. Children will be dropped of at Westminster in the morning, and transportation will be provided by Westminster staff and chaperones. We will return to Westminster in the afternoon.
Children will need to bring a packed lunch. More details will be provided closer to Barefoot School.
The cost for the field trip is $15.
Barefoot School would not be possible without our amazing team of volunteers! Youth and adults who are interested in volunteering can register beginning May 1, 2026.
Upon registering, you will be able to indicate what positions interest you the most, and we’ll do our best to match you with that role. There’s a place for everyone at Barefoot School!
Before Barefoot School, volunteers are asked to attend one of two training opportunities. Training is required for first-time and youth volunteers and highly encouraged for all others. Trainings will be held on Wednesday, June 17 and Sunday, June 21. Volunteers are also asked to help with setup on Sunday, June 21 and clean up on Friday, June 26 as they are able. More details about training, setup, and clean up will be released at the end of May.
All volunteers over the age of 18 are required to submit clearances in accordance with Westminster’s Safe Church Policy and Pennsylvania State requirements.
Many children rely on school breakfast and lunch as their only meals of the day. When school is out for the summer, we can help fill the void. Our goal is to give one take home bag each week to almost 200 food insecure children through their local churches, schools, libraries, and day cares for eight weeks for a total of nearly 1,700 bags!
Please bring physical donations of tuna or chicken, individual serving foil packages (no cans), Pop Tarts, cereal, individual serving packages, Fruit- by-the-Foot, applesauce pouches, and Easy Mac cups to Barefoot School throughout the week or donate virtually using the link below: https://bit.ly/422RHc3
Did you know? Westminster supports Food 2 Go all summer long – beginning May 1! Contact Emily Shubilla, Volunteer Coordinator, to learn more about how you can get involved with donating, packing bags, or helping with delivery.
