Have you ever heard the joyful sound of Christian fellowship? In the WROC it takes the form of drumming, singing, flushed faces, and big smiles.
The WROC introduced cardio drumming this year with 42 drummers, men and women of all ages and fitness levels rocking to the sounds of familiar songs.
The big benefit of cardio drumming is that you get your heart rate up and burn calories while also working your brain. While moving side to side, you’re directed to play specific rhythms on the ball. Doing both things simultaneously will give you a mental workout that you don’t find in many other fitness routines.
Cardio drumming is also incredibly fun, especially when you’re in a group class with other people. This makes it easier to burn calories and get your heart rate up, as you often don’t realize you’re getting a cardio workout.
Aside from the physical benefits, cardio exercise releases endorphins – the happy hormones – that help relieve pain, reduce stress, and improve your sense of well-being. If you don't come to drumming for the health benefits, come to meet a new friend and experience Christian fellowship in the WROC!
New class begins January 10, 2025.
