Since the late 1990s, Fishers of Men discussed over 40 books on social issues and trends and personal faith, occasionally ‘diverting’ their conversations to members’ personal examples of church involvement. Once books are selected, group members acknowledge the purpose they intend to gain from the book and the discussions can go in many directions from there.
Leader: Doug Mitchell
Location: South Courtyard (Columbarium). There are also two canvas labyrinths available for indoor programs.
The labyrinth as a spiritual tool has been used by many cultures and religious traditions and examples of different labyrinths have been found at ancient sites throughout the world. Labyrinths are unicursal, which means that there is a single pathway leading in and out. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth is not designed to confuse or bewilder. In a maze you lose yourself. There are many ways and reasons to walk a labyrinth – for prayer, centering, problem solving, walking meditation, reflection, and inspiration.
Leader: Barbara Myers
