Youth Ministry

Veritas | Youth Group for Grades 7 to 12

Why is it called Veritas? The word Veritas means “truth” in Latin. In John 8:31b-32, Jesus says, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (NRSV) In this passage, the word used for “truth” is Jesus himself. At Westminster, if you hear someone say they are “going to Veritas”, it means they are coming to youth group.

Our Programs

Wednesdays @ Westminster

Veritas meets every Wednesday during the school year from 6:00-7:30 p.m. (or come early for dinner at 5:15 – dinner is $10).

Our evening is spent playing games, in worship and prayer, followed by discussions about what it means to be a follower of Jesus in our world today. Veritas is open to all students in grades 7-12. Annual registration is required (linked at the top of this page).

Westminster has Wednesday programs for people of all ages! We invite students and their families to join us for dinner at 5:15 before programming begins. Learn more about how your family can join us on Wednesdays at this link.

Events

Through the year we host special events, mission projects, and retreats. You can find a list of upcoming events with active registration here

Confirmation

Confirmation is a monumental occasion in faith development and growth. Because many children are baptized as infants in our Presbyterian tradition, confirmation marks the time when students make their faith truly their own.

At Westminster, students in 10th-12th grade are invited to participate in a series of classes where they have a chance to explore their beliefs and become official members of the church.

The confirmation class is offered in the fall and spring. After four sessions are completed, students are presented to session with their statement of faith and then confirmed during Sunday worship.

Fall 2026 Dates: Sundays, September 20-October 11 from 7:00p-8:00p

Register For The Fall Class Here

Spring 2027 Dates: Sundays, January 24, 31 February 14, 21 from 7:00p-8:00p

To complete the class, all 4 class sessions must be attended.
