DESCRIPTION:Come Sing With Us at Westminster!\nScripture shows that singing to God is both ordained and encouraged — from the Psalms to the New Testament\, it is presented as a commanded and vital part of worship. Whether in personal devotion or corporate praise\, singing is a biblical mandate for God’s people. And\, it’s fun! \nCherub Choir (grades K-2) Rm. 176\, and Junior Choir (grades 2-7) Rm. 268\nWednesdays from 4:45-5:30 p.m.; first practice is Wednesday\, August 26 \nChoir teaches collaborative belonging and shared purpose\, active listening\, interdependence and musical skills.\nThe Cherub and Junior Choirs will lead worship (sing!) on the second Sunday of the month\, and on the annual Christmas concert (December 13). \nRegister for Cherub Choir \nRegister for Junior Choir

Wilson\nDavid Bentley Hart’s work has attracted considerable attention in the last few years. This series discusses its major points and considers its value for Christian faith. \n\nSeptember 13 – Countering Materialism and Atheism\nSeptember 20 – God and Human Consciousness\nSeptember 27 – Hart’s Interpretation of the Miracle of the Transfiguration\n\nHart\, born in 1965 and raised in Maryland\, is a philosopher\, theologian\, essayist\, fiction author\, and religious studies scholar. He is the author of 24 books and over 1\,000 essays\, reviews\, and papers. Hart’s translation of the New Testament was published in 2017 with a second edition in 2023. \nJohn E. Wilson is a former professor church history and modern theology at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
